NDIS supports in employment

Waverley Helpmates is a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider. The NDIS can fund supports in employment for participants who need extra help to pursue their employment goals.

NDIS takes a lifetime approach, investing early in people with disability and children with developmental delay to improve their outcomes later in life.

Supported Employment

Working with NDIS Participants and Plan Managers NDIS participants have three ways of managing their NDIS funding:

Agency managed

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) manages the participant’s funds and pays registered NDIA service providers direct.

Plan Management Provider managed

A Plan Manager is employed to support an NDIS participant to manage their budget. The Plan Manager requests invoices and undertakes payment on behalf of the NDIS participant.

Self-managed

The NDIS participant or nominee manages their own funding and payments.

Finding and keeping a job (SLES)

School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES)

SLES is available for eligible Year 12 school leavers with disabilities under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

At Waverley Helpmates, we’re all about finding the right vocational direction for our SLES participants. Whether it’s moving on to study or gaining work experience and upskilling to find a suitable role, we work with participants to develop clear vocational goals and implement a practical plan to achieve these. Many of our participants have gone on to get a job in open employment
